Coronation Street fans have this week been sharing a demand for answers about Lisa Swain, which comes as she married Carla Connor in beautifully emotional scenes.
It would be fair to say that fans of the couple, dubbed Swarla, have been waiting to see tgem tie the knot following their engagement back in September, which came before a very turbulent time for the pair, mainly thanks to the unexpected arrival of Lisa’s ex, Becky Swain,
While she didn’t make things easy for the couple, nearly tearing them apart in the process, in January, Becky was officially put out of the picture, having been sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars for her crimes, and it led the way for Lisa and Carla to be reunited.
And the Underworld factory boss wasted no time in booking their big day, with the date set for April 23 at the Chariot Square Hotel. While things almost didn’t got to plan, it was previously confirmed that Lisa and Carla will make Corrie history as the first two women to successfully wed in the ITV soap.
But it was in the lead-up to the special occasion that Corrie fans were left asking more questions about Lisa. During Tuesday’s (April 21) episode of Corrie, it was time for Carla’s hen and while she and Betsy headed for a night in the Rovers Return, Lisa went off to what she thought would be her own hen organised by her police colleagues. However, as Sally Metcalfe nipped out to the corner shop for some supplies, she found Lisa looking at meals for one.
She dragged her over to the Rovers where Carla and Betsy were quick to feel sorry for the DS when she revealed her colleagues hadn’t actually planned anything at all. While Lisa said she was fine with that being the case and she didn’t want to crash Carla’s night, her future wife gave her no choice and she was soon sporting a devil horn headband like the rest of the partygoers.
But it left Corrie fans wanting to know more, and with Betsy Lisa’s only family present on her big day, they are keen to get the Swain family lore and to get her some pals – but maybe after enjoying some marital bliss.
