After a hugely worrying moment in the court room, there’s now a high chance Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) is going to get away with abusing Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) in Coronation Street.

This storyline began towards the end of last year, when Megan was introduced to us as Will’s sports coach.

We very quickly discovered that the student/teacher dynamic was to cover up the fact that Megan and Will were in an inappropriate relationship.

The first person who discovered the abuse was youngster Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan). He tried to prove his theory, but kept getting shut down by Megan. She worked hard to manipulate him into keeping quiet, and her efforts had such a detrimental impact on Sam’s wellbeing, he was put in hospital.

A conversation with Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) – who went through a similar experience to Will when he was younger – was what pushed the teen to telling the police about Megan.

The trial has began and already, it’s incredibly tense. Megan is being represented by Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who is dealing with a fair bit of animosity from a number of Weatherfield residents due to ignoring his moral compass and defending her in court.

In the second part of tonight’s trip to the cobbles, Will took to the stand and was question about his dynamic with Megan.

He held his own for quite a while, but fell apart when he made the mistake of making eye contact with Megan. Her steely gaze alone was enough for Will to crumble, and he told the court that he was never in a sexual relationship with Megan.

This was a nightmare. The fact that things had gotten this far, and Will was now claiming that he had made the entire thing up, just gave the impression that he was wasting everyone’s time.

As the episode drew to a close, Adam took a risk and visited the Driscolls in the pub.

He told Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) that if Will doesn’t switch on, Megan will get away with abusing him and will walk free.

Whether the trial continues or not is down to the judge.

If it does, is there any real chance of Megan getting convicted now?

Is she going to get away with her crimes?
