A dramatic kidnap plot involving newcomer Idris Khan has been confirmed for Coronation Street. The character recently arrived on the cobbles, though he faces a huge backlash as landlord to Abi Webster next week.
The shocking plot sees Abi’s son Alfie rushed to A&E with breathing problems, which it turns out have been caused by black mould in his bedroom. Abi had previously tried to contact her landlord to raise concern about rising damp in the flat, to no answer.
Having discovered that Idris is overseeing the property, she will later meet with Adam Barlow to see if he will take on her case following her ordeal.
Meanwhile, Idris – who is shocked to see the state of the flat – goes to the hospital to try and front things out, and is also seeking to get answers from the previous landlord… with the character prepared to go to dark lengths.
“Idris isn’t just concerned about them, he wants answers from the previous landlord he bought the flat from,” our Corrie source previously teased. “It turns out that Idris has a way of dealing with situations like this that are very heavy-handed!”
Sure enough, Idris star Junade Khan has confirmed that he and Brody Michaelis will kidnap the previous landlord in upcoming scenes.
“Idris has bought some properties from a dodgy guy and not done a survey, which he should have done,” he told The Mirror. “He apologises and wants to put it right, but it’s too little, too late.
“Then, when Leanne and Alya say it’s not his fault, he decides he needs payback. He decides to visit this guy and put him in his place.”
Khan then teased: “They stick him in the car, take him to wasteland and threaten him and Brody hits him. He gets Brody to do his dirty work, so that his own hands are clean.
“He’s got this darker side when it comes to business but at the same time there’s a humanity to him.”
