“Idris likes Leanne a great deal because she’s real,” reveals Junade Khan, who plays the newcomer. “He has a flashy lifestyle, but when his path crosses with Leanne, he realises that she’s genuinely a real person and that attracts him to her.”
The week begins with a lad called Damo tumbling out of a car, while Brody Michaelis sets off for a jog.
Later, Brody turns up for a temp shift at Speed Daal, where a rowdy crowd of customers spill curry over his trainers. Luckily for Brody, Idris appears at just the right time and sends the group packing, before Alya rushes over to greet her relative.
But it’s when Leanne recognises Idris as the cousin of her late ex Kal that sparks fly…
“Idris recognises Leanne but doesn’t quite know where from,” Junade explains. “It was a family wedding that they had, where they were on the same table, so they recognise each other, and the connection clicks…”
While chatting with Alya, Idris reveals that he has bought a local property agency. Brody is quick to pipe up and ask for a job, but Adam Barlow takes an instant dislike to his girlfriend’s cousin…
“Adam and Idris have some disagreements,” says Junade. “In Speed Daal, there’s a group of men who aren’t paying, and Adam is there but not doing anything about it, so Idris takes the mickey out of him. That’s the first dig that Idris has at him, then it just continues.”
Afterwards, Idris tracks down Damo and pulls him into the ginnel for a private word. What does Idris say?
When Eid arrives, Idris celebrates with Adam and Alya, before Alya suggests that Idris could move in with them. Will Idris accept the offer?
Before long, Idris asks Leanne out, leading to their first kiss.
The next day, Leanne admits to stunned Alya that she snogged Idris. Alya insists to Leanne that she keep her distance, but will Leanne heed Alya’s warning? Or will she go full steam ahead with Idris?
