CORRIE STAR GARETH PIERCE CELEBRATES HUGE CHARITY CYCLING ACHIEVEMENT AWAY FROM THE COBBLES!!!

Coronation Street star Gareth Pierce has shared a major achievement away from the cobbles, earning praise from soap fans. The Todd Grimshaw star has taken on the Dragon Ride Medio Fondo, one of the UK’s biggest cycling events involving a 154km-long cycle with 2345m of climbing.

The sportive took place last weekend in the Bannau Brycheiniog in Wales, with Pierce participating to raise funds for Age UK.

Taking to Instagram after the event, the soap star shared his impressions and thanked all of his supporters who donated to the cause.

“Wow! Some aching limbs today, but a full heart and full coffers too – thanks to your generous donations. You’ve sent us soaring towards the £1000 mark for @age_uk,” he captioned an Instagram carousel of pictures from the big day, including a joyous snap where he lifts his bike above his head with a big smile on his face.

He continued: “Diolch @dragonridewales and all volunteers for hosting such an excellent event & big congrats to all the riders.”

The actor previously shared that he’d be racing in the competition, posting a video on his social media: “Spinning my legs at this year’s @dragonridewales on SUNDAY 14th JUNE!

“154km and over 2000m ascent, raising funds for @age_uk and their ‘Act Now, Age Better’ campaign.”

Age UK commented on Pierce’s endeavor on Instagram, writing: “Huge well done Gareth from all of us here at Age UK! Thank you so much for all your support and for taking on such a massive challenge “

Pierce also received praise from his Corrie co-stars as well as followers on social media, with Asha Alahan star Tanisha Gorey writing: “Woohoo!!!! We love you!!!!!”

Lewis Magee, who also starred in Coronation Street as Miles Silverton, commented: “Legend.”
