Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon makes surprise soap admission as she teases Bethany Platt future

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has made an admission about watching the long-running show as she teased what’s ahead for her character, Bethany Platt.
The actress made her debut on the cobbles back in 2015 and after leaving in 2020, Blackpool-born Lucy has been back portraying Bethany in the ITV soap since the end of 2023.
But the 30-year-old has confessed that she never actually watches the show because she hates seeing herself on screen. Lucy told The Mirror: “I don’t actually watch Coronation Street. Not because I don’t like it, but because I don’t like to watch anything I do.
“Some people like to watch themselves, but I’ve never ever liked it. So, I don’t really watch it and I don’t really know what’s going on in Corrie at the moment. But I love it at Coronation Street. It’s my favourite place, it’s my second home.”
Lucy also teased during her chat with the publication at the Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse that her soap alter-ego will be at the centre of a storyline that could make her unpopular with viewers.

She said: “She does [have a big storyline coming up]. I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s not going to be great. I don’t think people are going to be happy about it. This one is low-key her fault. Everyone is going to be like, ‘She is a d***’.’ Which is fine.”
But Lucy isn’t bothered about taking on controversial storylines on one condition. She says as long as the plot “is good” she’s happy to get her teeth stuck into it.
She shared: “I don’t mind what it [her storyline] is as long as it’s a good one. Being in the Platts is a good family to be in. It’s an amazing honour to get a storyline, I don’t take it for granted at all.”
