Nia Booko opened up about why she told her husband, Danny Booko, to refrain from dancing during their cast trip to Mexico after Wednesday’s episode of The Valley.

As Danny, 42, admitted that being told to lay low put a damper on Zack Wickham‘s birthday celebration and suggested Michelle Saniei, 37, had acted hypocritically, Nia, 36, explained why she felt the need to encourage Danny to tone it down, Janet Caperna accused Nia of painting a false narrative, and Zack, 37, claimed Michelle changed due to Janet’s involvement in her life.

“At that lunch, Michelle had told me, literally, ‘He makes everybody feel uncomfortable,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I know my man and we, together, enjoy having a good time and dancing, but I know how he dances. If everybody else is seeing it, I don’t want him to make everybody uncomfortable,’” Nia recalled on the July 1 episode of The Valley: After Show.

That said, Nia confirmed that she regretted telling her spouse not to dance.

“I do regret it because I also feel so bad that I put a kink in his night. Knowing that he enjoys having a good time and partying, and I put a damper on that … I wish I hadn’t. I want him to have a good time. I want to have a good time with him,” she reasoned.

“[And] you just didn’t want another excuse for them to complain about,” Kristen Doute, 43, added.

“Exactly,” Nia agreed. “We already seem to still have a target, so let’s not make it bigger by shaking the hips.”

As Jesse remembered Danny “acting like a little b*tch” during their night out, Danny admitted that Nia advising him against dancing put him “in a mood.”

“[It was] a wet towel over my ‘Let’s go out. Let’s celebrate Zack. Let’s have a good time. Let’s have fun.’ And now I have to be thinking about this in the back of my head. I was frustrated at Nia that she was giving them too much power, as I’m seeing Michelle dance on the bar, twerking, all this type of stuff … But I make people feel uncomfortable?” he asked. “Look, I have some Magic Mike moves, but they are all targeted toward my wife.”

“[And Michelle has] never done [that] in 10 years of knowing her,” Jesse interjected, suggesting that the behavior was intentional.

Meanwhile, in her own segment, Michelle insisted that she was not against Danny dancing.

“I didn’t say anything about dancing, and I was trying to help the situation, not make it worse,” she explained as Janet confirmed the discussion was “not about dancing.”

“I feel like sometimes they try to muddy the waters and say like, ‘Well, I guess I just can’t dance.’ And it’s like ’No. Dance. Drink. Just cut out the behaviors that you do when you’re drinking,’” Janet shared. “Dance away. Have the best night of your life. Shake those hips like Shakira. Did anybody have a problem with him once he started dancing? Absolutely not.”

“But if she says ‘Well, Danny can’t dance,’ that makes it sound like we’re just silly people who are making a big deal about nothing,” she continued.

Also on the After Show, Zack noted that there was a bigger issue at play.

“Let’s talk about what we really need to talk about, which is that Michelle also was very close to Danny and Nia and then all of a sudden at the reunion last year, she basically flips this 180 … [And] I think it’s Janet,” he declared.

The Valley season three airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
