Coronation Street fans have had their excitement taken up a notch as Vicky Myers gave a fresh tease about her on-screen wedding day set to take place this week.
The actress’ character, Lisa Swain, will soon be seen marrying Carla Connor, played by Alison King, in a much-anticpated wedding, which comes after months of turmoil for the beloved couple, dubbed ‘Swarla’ by fans.
It was back in January that the ITV soap’s producer Kate Brooks announced that the two characters would be hearing wedding bells this spring following their much-welcomed reunion, which came after a very turbulent time for the pair following the unexpected arrival of Lisa’s ex, Becky Swain.
While there was quite a bit of drama in between, eventually, Lisa and Carla were reunited after Becky was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, and more loved-up than ever, Carla soon surprised the love of her life, by booking their wedding date at the Chariot Square Hotel.
The big day was set for April 23 but at the time, it was also confirmed that their ‘beautiful’ wedding day will end with a shock for poor Betsy Swain as Lisa’s daughter discovers one of her neighbours dead on the cobbles.
But, it has been confirmed that Lisa and Carla will successfully, tie the knot, making them the first Weatherfield women to do ever do so in the Salford-based show’s 65-year history.

Ahead of the big day, the episode’s writer Damon Rochefort took to X (formerly Twitter) and said: “Hope all #swarla fans are pumped for their wedding episode I’ve written – coming in hot this Thursday! #corrie @itvcorrie @VixMyers.” In response, Vicky shared the post and commented: “[bride emojis] And what an episode it is! Fab music choices too. Thank you @DamonRochefort.”
Damon then replied: “Pleasure treasure, you and Ali SHINE,” but Vicky returned the praise, telling him: “We can only do what’s written and that’s down to you my darling. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, fans were also quick to share their excitement. @TheConnorSwains said: “This is TV history in the making. Seeing a successful WLW wedding on the UK’s favourite street feels SO special. Watching #Swarla celebrate with friends & family in the heart of the community, then head back to their home on the iconic Coronation St, makes it even more meaningful.”
@Caitobrien_x replied: “You and Ali are just incredible. The love, care and detail you both put into every scene doesn’t go unnoticed. We’re so incredibly lucky to have you both.” @NatureLover727 shared: “I’m so excited for this, it’s been a long time coming and many hurdles but hopefully all plain sailing now.
